The evolution of sports games: good or bad?
I kinda think that the evolution of sports games is bad. Besides the graphics I think that what their doing with sports games is dumb. I know this isn't a fact but an opinion. My opinion. I might not say what everybody thinks. But I just want to get my opinion out there. So please just hear me out as I explain my opinion on this matter.
Good
The sole good thing is the advancing in graphics. The graphics have definitly improved. This makes the game better looking and polishes it up. But the graphics only help if the game is good. Which is what I'm getting to next.
Bad
The game. The whole game to me. The game makers are trying to hard to make the game realistic. The fastball is actually really fast. So it makes it tough to hit. Not to mention that you have to watch for balls and strikes. It gets extremely annoying. Hopefully EA and other game makers will realize this. So to me its a problem. I liked the older games and the wii games because how much easier it is to hit the ball. So thats my opinion. Leave a comment of your opinion.
Thanks for reading!

Backyard Baseball '10
Backyard Baseball By AtariThis game is a great follow up to the many Backyard baseball games before it. I have been a long time fan of the series and this game just proves why. The series is updates its game annually and with great games with plenty of game modes. I actually was surprised on how much it had added in two years. I definitely think that the game is worth buying. It has plenty of hours of game play and makes a good time with friends. I will take the game in stages so the review can be its in its fullest form.
Characters
The characters detail is great. Its obvious that plenty of work was put into it. The characters involve major league superstars and to show their creativity they made their own characters. The characters they make are great to they all have their own stories. They actually differ in statistics! They make new ones and bring back the legends. They're called the Backyard Kids. You can make your own backyard kid too! You can choose how he looks and choose how well he does in different areas. Its great. Then the other characters the real MLB people are called the pros. It has great players with great detail. One of the new features that I like is to get some of the great players you have to unlock so its an added challenge. Not to mention that it makes it easy to pick teams. It categorizes them for what there good at. Its extremely convenient. Just All in all a great design of the characters.
Field of Play
The Playing Fields really show the games roots. With normal suburban places to play on with touches of creativity. The fields are well designed. The graphics are pretty good on the backdrops. This impresses me to think that they can put this kind of detail into a game in a year time period. If it wasn't already obvious by the cover this game is aimed to look cartoon-ish. So don't be expecting to see any kind of attempt at making it realistic. Not to mention that there's a good amount of playing fields. This side of the game will not let you down.
Game-play
The one player game play truly is great with three different types of game play. The first is quick game. Quick game allows you to start a game immediately. Unlike the other two modes. It picks your team for you. That feature can be annoying when you get into the game because sometimes it doesn't pick you a very good team. All quick game is is basically randomly picking everything for you. Like the field, the teams, and the players are picked for you. This feature is for the not very patient gamer. The next game mode is season. In this game mode you basically do what the title says play a season. You choose your players from the character selection I talked about earlier. After choosing players you choose what team you want to play for. You can choose from major league teams or from the backyard teams. After deciding on a team you can adjust the settings for the season (difficulty, innings, etc). Throughout the season you can trade, play, and sign new players as you go. This makes it have a much more empowered feel and puts you in the manager position. At the end of the season you are able to play a tournament. You are placed by how well you did in the season. This game mode is for the hardcore sports gamer. The final game mode is tournament. Its basically the same thing as the playoffs in the season mode but with a different look. Not to mention that you don't have to go through the whole season first. You have to go though the same drafting process as season and basically the same kind of tournaments. So this is for the casual gamer. The multiplayer allows you to face aginest your friends. You go though a draft process. Nothing of huge change. So that sums up to be a pretty good gameplay.
So after reviewing the game I think that Backyard Baseball 2010 gets a 8.9. out of 10
So here is the rundown
Pros
-many game modes
-good design
-great for kids
Cons
-loses its steam fast
-doesn't span to many

Uncharted 2 Among Thieves
Uncharted 2 Among Thieves By Naughty Dog
Uncharted 2 has got to be one of the best games ever. Its exclusive to PlayStation. This game is one of the big pointers on why PlayStation 3 has better games. This game has three of the most prestigious awards its kicks ass. It got The Game Critics' best of show award, the best of E3 award, and the Best PS3 Multi player from IGN ( international gaming network). IGN and E3! Both are the best of the best! Not only does that say something but it totally blows most every game out of the water. It also comes from Naughty Dog, which happens to have made tons of hugely popular games. I'm sorry but just the honors of this game would make me want to give it an amazing review. Think about it, it comes from a veteran producing company and it has huge awards! Why wouldn't you want to buy this game. This game doesn't fail expectations at all. So lets get in to the review shall we.
Characters
The main character is Nathan Drake a treasure hunter looking for the lost fleet of Marco Polo. Accompanied by Chloe Frazer you set off on your mission. You met an old friend on this adventure who tags along. This friend is Elena. The antagonist is Zoran Lazarevic. Also their are other characters such as Sully, Flinn, and Jeff. The characters are very well thought through. They have very interesting stories and make the game very interesting and devastating. The characters really draw you into the gameplay and I think that Uncharted 2 perfected it. Characters: A+
Plot
In Uncharted 2, Nathan Drake gets an intriguing offer about finding the lost fleet of Marco Polo. To get a vital clue you break into a museum. While there you are betrayed by someone unexpected. In order to get revenge and find this illusive treasure you embark on a journey. Meeting old and new friends along the way you come faster and faster towards the treasure and the dark truth behind it. The plot is amazingly put together. Every thing is clear and the cut scenes are magnificent. The story is appealing and draws you closer to the characters. With enough twists and turns to make a rollercoaster jealous. It is just plain and simple a great campaign.
Plot:A+
Settings
The settings in this game are amazing. One look at this game and you will agree. With some games the backdrops aren't really thought of when thinking of key aspects. With Uncharted thought the backdrops are definitely a key aspect. These backdrops play a part in the game. Every setting matters. They made them blend with the story. Also they are jaw-dropping. There just amazingly designed. Truly a sight of its own. From a intriguing museum to the wild ruins of shangri-la, this game never let up. I believe you will love them too. All in all, the settings are great.
Settings:A+
Cut scenes
Cut scenes like the settings are amazing. Don't skip through these cut scenes because they matter. Seriously they are amazing. Not only to they have great voice talent but they're beautifully designed. It makes the game seem like a movie. It truly does. The casting was perfect. The designers did a fabulous job. Some of the big turning points of the story in these scenes. So definetly check them out.
Cut Scenes:A+
Gameplay
The gameplay is great. With its great range in difficultly levels you can play it if your new to shooters or if your a veteren. Also with and exceptional online mode, you'll be with this game for a long time. The gameplay in the campaign is fun but tricky. It can be easily frustrating, for there are a lot of puzzles that are really tough. But not to worry the intense action comes in a lot so that the puzzles don't cover the majority. It truly though is a great gameplay. It also ranges from being sneaky to running for your life. In this case where the great story comes in so does a great bunch of gameplay. Not to mention the great online gameplay. With different playable characters. It makes for a lot of fun. All though gameplay is not as great as mw2 it still is amazing. It also comes with some great maps.
Gameplay: A-
Bonus Material
The Bonus material includes new maps, and a new type of gameplay. Both great at low prices. The new gamemode is phonemenal and addictive. Not to mention the fact that it also works with the new maps which are my new favorites. Always watch though because new ones are still coming.
Bonus:A+
The Rundown
Pros: The great gameplay with the great graphics and story make for a beautiful game. With an ok online gameplay. It sums up to be a great game.
-graphics
-story
-gameplay
-characters
-bonus material
Cons: The only thing that isn't great about this game is, it needs to get a little better online gameplay system. Thats the only thing.
-tweaks some online
The final score is a great game getting a 9.8 out of 10. I would definetly recommened this game. New posts like Infamous coming soon. Also you might want to vote on the poll because of its ending soon.

Guitar Hero III Legends of Rock
Guitar Hero III Legends of Rock 9 out of 1o Rated T
This series of games I can't really compare to any of the other games I've reviewed. The only thing you can really compare it to is itself and Rockband. Guitar Hero 3 is a good step up from the last. There are some new added features and new types of ways to play. I really enjoyed playing this game. This game is not like real guitar though. I know this because I play Bass Guitar.
The thing that really blew me away was the new part of campaign. Every few setlist you will have to play a guitar battle against a world famous rocker. In this "battle" you will both switch of on amazing riffs until the end in which you automatically lose. To make the opponent mess up you have to earn Battle stars. This is basically star power except you get some sort of a power up. You use these in the same sort of way as star power (by lifting the guitar's neck end up). The battles do take sometime. They can get pretty frustrating. You will face 3 different guitar masters in battles throughout the Career mode. The Rockers are Tom Morello, Saul "Slash" Hudson, and Lou. This Battle is also a game mode in two player.
The Career is pretty good. You travel around preforming shows. There are small cutscenes in which the characters never speak. Most and if not all the songs are not from the 21st century. Most of the song are from the 90's and the 80's. The career is nothing special. The career mode really is just playing new songs. One of the things I like is that there is more well known songs than 1 and 2. The game is great because of the widespread difficulty levels that it has. The game also lets you choose out of a good amount of characters. The game doesn't really change in the way you playt it more just it gets harder (that's what she said) and the songs change. The campaign just can't really be hated on.
The Multiplayer is ok. The game really doen't change except for that you can replay a song now and work on others. The multiplayer doesn't vary from the campaign. I actually find it more fun to play multiplayer. Why you may ask, well I'll tell you. This way I don't have to play the songs I don't like. But, you do have to play the career once through to unlock the songs.
The Rundown:
Pros
-Easy
-Difficulty levels change gradually
-Fun
-Entertaining
Cons
-Not like real Guitar
-Not much varation in game play
Thanks for reading and spread the word about the blog.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Racoonus 8 out of 10
Sly is a great game... considering the time it was made. The game was made in 2002. If you compared it to the games today it would be horrible, 4 out of 10. I can't do that though because that would be extremely unfair. It doesn't have great animation. It is definitely more of a children's game. It has a very simple minded game play. Just sneak around and knock out the guards to get a key to unlock something important. I think the animators were a little to lock and key based.
Sly obviously only has a campaign. The campaign is great though. A good amount of hours are put into it which is a relief. The campaign consist of sly trying to steal back his family's guide to becoming a great thief. The guide was stolen by 5 people. So the story line is sly is trying to steal back the pages with his friends. You obviously travel to there terrain and then steal a few minor things. Finally you face a boss in which he gets really strong and you run away for a bit and then he runs out of energy and then you try to deal damage to them. Its repetition. Its a really simple game. For me the controls are some what difficult but that's because I'm used to first person. The controls are fairly simple though. The only bad thing is the age and how much the game repeats itself. Also some of the levels and boss battles can be extremely frustrating. I really think its a pretty good game. It definitely doesn't have the game modes to compare to the modern games. The Campaign I think would really do great against modern campaign in a judging. So here is the rundown.
Pros
-Great Campaign
-Kid Friendly
-Just all around Fun
-Great for the time period it made
Cons
-A lot of repetition
-Frustrating

MAG
MAG 6 out of 10 Rated T
MAG I don't really love and I don't dislike it either. Its sort of good. There is only one game play. Unlike other one game play games its not only campaign its only online. It is 100% more like real warfare than call of duty or other war based games. I think it really lack some of the important keys to making a good online game. Mag has no variety in maps at all from what I have played. You have one map for suppression which for me get annoying. You have to join 1 of 3 teams at the beginning. The only thing that they tell you about the teams are what backgrounds the people come from. Yeah guys that helps when seeing which team is the most deadly. The game got very boring quick. It really doesn't give the beginners much to start with. You get a horrible gun and long time veterans of the game to play against. You really kind of suck at the beginning. I'm not going to brag but I'm a decent FPS gamer. Even so I couldn't get a kill when I first started. I still can't get very many. Also when you earn a new game play it doesn't explain it at all. Its like you won a new game mode now you figure out how to play it. They aren't even very good graphics either but I won't dwell on it. Also the fact that a sniper can hit from across the map annoys me. Especially since there are no kill cams and the maps are HUGE. So it makes it impossible to kill one.
However the people on MAG are noticeably nicer. I cant count how many friends i made on MAG. This really makes you forget about most of the cons when someone is there right by your side. Another helpful thing is that you can be saved when shot. A medic can heal you but you have to be careful. The more time your lying there the more time your team is down a player. So don't bleed out if there are medics nearby. That my friend is the most annoying thing you can do.
All in all, The game isn't great but i wouldn't not recommend it. Only for the PS3. So here is the run down.
Pros
-Friendly Users
-Medic Ability
-More war like
-Rating
Cons
-Snipers Invincibility
-Not GREAT Graphics
-Hard to Begin
-NO CAMPAIGN!
- NO INSTRUCTIONS

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Dear Followers,
9.8 out of 10
I know everyone has heard about the game Modern Warfare 2. This game to me really sets an example of what a first person shooter should be like. In my opinion it had a good campagin. Everyone whines about how short the campagin is. I would agree but that isn't what you should only base your review on. Compared to other games I would have to say that the campagin is great. Yes it may be short but it was great. The cutscenes are great and the story really comes together. I would however recommened that you play the first modern warfare before this. Its not neccesary but it really helps towards the end of the story. So all in all the Campagin is short but sweet.
The new Special Ops mode is pretty fun and is a great new feature made by Infinite Ward. Itnreally adds some playing time. This in my in my opinion makes up for the short campagin. It has some similar missions and some totally new ones. So its sort of like a non story telling campagin. I would recommened playing with a friend. If you don't have a friend over just find someone online with the special ops online feature. So in someways its a co-op campagin. I don't play it as much. However don't ignore this great feature because I don't play it regulary. This is a great way if your stuck on a misssion on campagin to practice so you can pass the level the next time. so use this mode to your advantage.
I probably play on this multiplayer the most. It goes from Splitscreen (2-4 players) to online (2-18 players. This is my favorite because its the easiest to play with friends. If they're over at your house then you can play splitscreen and battle it out over many maps. If they're sick and they can't come over you can play with them online. Now there is also a new added feature that allows you to "create your own class." This feature allows your to choose your Primary weapon, your secondary weapon, equiptment (Frag, Semtex, etc.), Special grenade and special abilities like infinite running and other helpful things. I recently have been playing a lot of multiplayer because you get to rank up and earn new weapons. It has a few glitches that annoy me but nothing huge. The lag ( When someone has bad internet and cause the people to movements to be broken up) is pretty annoying. All in all a great gameplay that really entertains.
You may notice that there is a new map pack ( A set of maps that doesn't come with the game) out. This map pack is some what good and adds a new variety to the game. I bought it I don't like some of the maps but there worth buying. They get better as you get to know them. The Map Pack includes 3 new maps and 2 past highly enjoyed maps. So it more matters on personal prefrence.
I would definitley recommened buying this game. It is continuous fun for a long time. If you are looking for a good shooter game I think this will show what to look for. I also am happy to say that it is for the PS3 and the XBOX 360. Thanks for reading! Please spread the word of the blog.
